Multicultural health
Do you have an idea for multicultural health initiative, or know of one already underway in your area? If so, we want to hear about it.
Metro North Health is a large multicultural organisation serving a large multicultural population. Every day, the people who make up Metro North Health take action, big and small, to make our health service more inviting and accessible to people from Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Sometimes these efforts go unacknowledged, or ideas unactioned.
Metro North Health is pleased to announce the launch of a new portal for staff to report a multicultural health initiative, or make a suggestion about a possible multicultural health initiative. This portal will ensure that good work, and good ideas, doesn’t get overlooked or forgotten in our busy work lives. I know the leadership of Metro North are all eager to get a better understanding of the good work we are already doing, and where we, as an organisation, might do better in the future.
Please take a moment to report a multicultural health initiative, or make a multicultural health suggestion.
Allied Health Professionals Day
This Saturday, 14 October is international Allied Health Professionals Day. This year the main theme, ‘Stronger together’, highlights the benefits of multidisciplinary team-based care. While it is well known that allied health professionals play a key role in the health and wellbeing of all Australians, health system reform is finally recognising the value, both economic and clinical, of multidisciplinary care. It is vital that allied health professionals are recognised alongside their nursing and medical colleagues for their role in designing and implementing a comprehensive healthcare system that truly wraps around the consumer.
Please take a few moments today to acknowledge and thank the allied health professionals you work alongside.
