Thank you for the way in which services have responded to Metro North moving to Tier 1 in our Acute Respiratory Plan, and for how you have responded to the increase in COVID-19 cases in our facilities.
Your actions are the best response to keeping patients and families protected as well as protecting yourself, staff and your loved ones.
I encourage you to keep up with your flu and COVID-19 vaccinations and fit testing, and wear masks in clinical areas. Please stay home if you are not well and give yourself the best chance to recover.
Kallangur Satellite Hospital Community Open Day
The Kallangur Satellite Hospital Community Open Day is planned for this Sunday 19 November from 10.00 am – 1.00 pm.
This community event precedes the official opening day of December 11, 2023, and as you are aware the Caboolture Satellite Hospital is now fully operational.
I am very proud of our COH teams who are behind two important satellite hospital services.
Firstly, I want to thank David Strain, Chris Butson and their awesome teams who successfully transitioned existing oral health services to both these new facilities.
It was a tremendous effort and feedback from our Caboolture patients indicate that they certainly enjoy the new facility with its easy access, modern design and free parking.
Secondly, I also want to congratulate the team behind the new Older People Assessment and Rehabilitation Service (OPARS). This service will be offered at both Kallangur and Bribie Island Satellite Hospitals.
OPARS is a fast-track clinical assessment, care planning, reconditioning and rehabilitation service. The team will be comprised of clinicians with a special interest in the rehabilitation and the health of older people.

Community Services Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM) go-live update
The timeframe leading into go-live for Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM) across Community Services has now been confirmed, with a go-live date of Wednesday 31 January 2024.
Staff will be able to maintain their knowledge and confidence by undertaking self-directed practice activities. Ask your line manager for instructions on how to access these activities.
The ESM Project team will continue to work with Community Services staff to ensure the ESM configuration reflects services provided.

Compliment – Interim Care
Another great compliment for a wonderful, compassionate service.
“My mother passed away peacefully at Brighton Health Campus recently.
“While in their care my mother received excellent care. The Interim Care staff are all so compassionate, helpful and caring. Queensland Health should be so proud of these people. I feel they deserve special mention.
“I will always be great full for their dedication and service. It would be nice for them to receive a Ministerial thank you for a job well done.”
A final shout out
It is no wonder that patient support officer Linda loves her job when she has the privilege of working with our aged care residents at Gannet House.
Gannett House offers specialised residential aged care to those who are financially disadvantaged and those with complex healthcare needs.
