Over the last few weeks, TPCH has been experiencing extremely high demands on its services.
In response to these demands, the hospital has had to review its existing clinical arrangements.
As of today, Wednesday 8 May, a number of temporary changes to clinical services have been made to ensure we can continue to meet the needs of our patients.
Temporary changes are as follows:
- Transit Lounge has become an area for patients awaiting admission from 7.00pm – 9.30pm, Monday to Friday
- Lounge D will become a space for patients awaiting discharge, oversighted by nursing staff
- DUIT will become a 6-bed ward from 4.30pm on 8 May 2024
- DUIT will relocate to Children’s Outpatients
- Children’s Outpatients will relocate to other available outpatient areas.
At this stage, we expect these temporary changes to be in place for a number of days, with the hospital undertaking continuous review of clinical demand. We will keep you updated as the situation evolves.
We acknowledge that these significant demands on our services are impacting the workload of our staff and we appreciate your commitment and efforts.
