April has been a busy month in the HELIX Hub with the commencement of the Innovation Training Program. In partnership with New Zealand-based Innovation Specialists, CreativeHQ, 16 participants from across Metro North are undertaking a Diploma of Applied Innovation, applying innovation methods to real health service opportunities in Gastroenterology, Outpatients, Subacute and Health Equity. Participants who move through the entire program will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to train other Metro North staff in Innovation practice, building capacity within our health service to “Make things better by making things easier”.
Designed to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing and networking among like-minded innovators, the HELIX Community has launched with the circulation of the first HELIX Community Newsletter and advertisement for the first-ever HELIX Grand Rounds. Next week the monthly lunchbox sessions kick off with Jed Duff, Professor of Nursing, Implementation Science, on Wednesday 8th May.
Reach out to HELIXHUB@health.qld.gov.au to reserve your spot or get involved in the HELIX Community.
In the coming weeks, I will share details of the upcoming Metro North Innovation Showcase, aimed at celebrating and acknowledging the achievements of partnership projects in 2023 and 2024 and introducing the Metro North Innovation Strategy.
