Dear Colleagues,
Welcome back to another week at Metro North, I hope you all took some time to destress over the weekend and recharge for a new week. Particularly in this middle part of the year you may be feeling tired and maybe a little burnt out (it’s definitely been a psychologically and physically challenging year!). If you’re struggling or just need someone to talk to, our staff wellness program is open to staff and as always Benestar is there to provide support 24/7 as well.
Highlights of today’s message include:
- PPE training resource now available in TMS
- Stage 3 ease of restrictions
- Opening of QLD borders
PPE Training Resource
A COVID-19 PPE training package has been developed as part of Metro North EOC’s response to COVID-19 is now available for all staff to complete on TMS. Staff involved in the direct care of COVID-19 patients are encouraged to complete this module – but I recommend it to all of you. It will take around 10 minutes to work through the training.
Click on the TMS icon on your desktop and search for COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment. This training package will guide you through COVID-19 PPE requirements.
Stage 3 Ease of Restrictions
Last Friday July 3, stage 3 easing of COVID-19 restrictions commenced for Queenslanders. Gatherings of up to 100 people on a private premise are now allowed, including weddings and funerals. Additionally, nightclubs, food courts, gambling venues, concert venues and non-therapeutic massage parlors are permitted to reopen with a COVID safe plan. I encourage you all to continue to exercise your common sense, social distancing and excellent hygiene as our restrictions continue to ease.
Opening of Queensland Borders
Come midday this Friday 10 July, any person from NSW, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, ACT and Northern Territory will be permitted to enter Queensland subject to completing and signing a border declaration. Anyone entering from Victoria will be subject to mandatory quarantine at their own cost. All person’s entering must complete and sign a border declaration stating they have not been in Victoria in the last 14 days, false statements will attract fines of up to $4000.
Thanks to everyone across Metro North for your assistance in flattening Queensland’s curve. Our response has proved effective, and we are reaping the benefits seeing life as we know it slowly return to normal. Great job to all.
Kind regards,
Dr Liz Rushbrook
