The RBWH Cancer Care Service was recently named as one of the top 100 cancer care centres in the world as part of online publication Newsweek’s Best Specialised Hospital’s list.
RBWH was recognised as number 91 and was in great company, with healthcare powerhouses including the Mayo Clinic, The Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic also appearing on the list. RBWH was one of only three Australian cancer centres named in the top 100.
RBWH Cancer Care Executive Director Associate Professor Glen Kennedy said being named in the list was a testament to the dedication and specialised knowledge demonstrated by the cancer care team.
“When a patient comes to RBWH for cancer treatment, they can be confident they will receive the best care available,” Professor Kennedy said.
“Not only do we have the brightest minds in cancer care working as part of our team, we also have access to a range of cutting-edge clinical research trials and equipment to provide our patients with the best possible chance of recovery.
“I’m proud to lead such an incredible team, and even prouder for this to be recognised on a global scale.”
