INTENSE RAINFALL EVENT UPDATE

Stand Down

Metro North has moved to STAND DOWN for the intense rainfall event (STAND DOWN Code Brown). We are currently firmly in recovery operations.

You can see the levels of activation and what they mean in your local Emergency Management Plan. Our Emergency Management team continues to monitor the weather situation closely. We will re-activate should it be required in the short term.

Current situation

The Brisbane River has been dropping and is now below the MINOR flood level at high tide. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a final flood warning for the lower Brisbane River.

Metro North is still providing support to flood isolated communities, vulnerable facilities and evacuation centres.

Donations

If you would like to make a donation of goods or money, you can contact these local charities:

COVID-19 UPDATE

Today there are 4397 reported cases of COVID-19 in Queensland.

PPE requirement

While masks are no longer mandatory when you’re out and about in the community, they are still required for:

  • Healthcare settings
  • Residential aged care facilities
  • Disability accommodation
  • Correctional facilities
  • While waiting for and on public transport
  • In taxis and rideshares,
  • At airports and on all domestic and international flights.

Where a mask as required and if you cannot physically distance.

You are required to wear the PPE appropriate for your type of work as outlined in the high-risk category of the PPE matrix.

At a minimum, this is a flat surgical mask in non-clinical areas.

Kind regards,

Louise O’Riordan and Dr Liz Rushbrook
Metro North Health Incident Controller
