TPCH has kickstarted the new year with some new faces, with 24 medical interns recently joining the hospital as doctors.
TPCH Executive Director Michele Gardner congratulated the new starters on beginning their careers, and welcomed them to the hospital.
She said the hospital was renowned for its world-leading cardiothoracic and emergency care, making TPCH an ideal place to begin a successful career in medicine.
“I am very excited to welcome these new members to our Charlies team,” Michele said.
“Many of our services are internationally renowned and our new interns will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best and most talented clinicians in their field.
“It’s a great time to start a career in medicine. TPCH has an outstanding team of medical professionals, so I know these graduates will take advantage of the opportunities available to them.”
The new interns participated in a week-long orientation program to familiarise themselves with each hospital, its services and clinical practice and procedures before beginning rotations through a variety of units that may include general medicine, surgery, emergency medicine and additional elective terms in other specialised areas.
