It’s official! The countdown is on to Royal Giving Day 2021. RBWH Foundation is excited to announce the 24-hour fundraising appeal will be held on Wednesday, June 23.
The inaugural Raise it for the Royal was held in 2019 and raised just over $500,000.
“Again in 2021, every dollar donated to Raise it for the Royal will be doubled thanks to the generosity of our Matched Donors,” said RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske.
“That means every dollar makes twice the impact on RBWH patient care initiatives, medical and clinician-led research, and any additional staff training and education programs.”
RBWH staff can also expect the return of the competitive Royal Giving Day Cup. Details about how Departments can compete for this year’s honours will be revealed in coming weeks.
Some of the research projects supported through Royal Giving Day 2019 included:
- Non-surgical multidisciplinary management of knee osteoarthritis in tertiary care
- Ideal catheter to vein ratio parameters for peripheral venous and midline devices
- Imaging and DNA markers for non-penetrating traumatic brain injury
A range of patient friendly initiatives were also funded such as patient lounge upgrades, therapy dog visits, the Stairwell Music Project’s live music sessions, and sound equipment and a Spotify account for the hospital’s front foyer.
“Raise it for the Royal is Queensland’s chance to say thank you to each and every person who works hard every day to make RBWH the world-class health institute it is,” said Ms Garske.
“The day is also a chance for Team Royal to stand up and be proud of the hospital and its achievements – and have a lot of fun along the way!”
Expect more details in weeks to come about how RBWH staff can be involved and Raise it for the Royal!
