RBWH Foundation Giving Day 2019
The countdown is on to the RBWH Foundation’s Royal Giving Day 2021 on Wednesday June 23. Funds from the 24-hour event will directly support RBWH medical and clinician-led research, patient care initiatives, and health worker training and education.
Royal Giving Day is an opportunity for Queenslanders to show their support and gratitude to RBWH and on the day, every donation will be doubled by our matched donors, helping make double the difference.
RBWH Departments and individual staff members are being invited to help Raise it for the Royal by competing for the Royal Giving Day Cup and volunteering on the day.
The Royal Giving Day Cup is a major feature of the day, presented to the highest fundraising team and individual from within Team Royal. Reigning champions Cancer Care Services are again promising a tough campaign!
The stakes are high with thousands of dollars in RBWH Foundation department and education grants up for grabs for teams and individuals, while a great selection of prizes from our sponsors are on offer for community and corporate fundraisers. Volunteers are also being sought for the Royal Giving Day phone room – a great opportunity to talk directly with members of the public about how their donations make such a difference to the health of Queenslanders. Register your interest in volunteering online at RBWH Foundation site
Compete for the Cup prizes include:
- Royal Giving Day Cup Winner (RBWH Team and Individual) – All funds raised will be doubled, plus winners will receive a bonus $1,000 RBWH Foundation Grant
- Runner Up for Royal Teams and Royal Individual – All funds raised will be doubled, plus the winning team will receive a bonus $500 RBWH Foundation Grant
- Third place Royal Teams and Royal Individual – All funds raised will be doubled, plus the winning team will receive a bonus $250 RBWH Foundation Grant

Here are some ideas to help get your creativity flowing:
- Raise your Heartbeat
- Challenge yourself to run, ride or walk a set distance and ask your friends to donate per km to help you Raise it for The Royal.
- Raise the Stakes
- Shave your head. Ok, shaving your head is a big ask and not for everyone. Adapt the idea for shaving beards or colouring hair.
- Raise extra Dough
- Organise a bake-off and make mouth-watering treats to sell to work colleagues, family, friends. Hold a morning tea with work colleagues – get the team together and ask everyone to make a donation.
