Living well and preventing falls – mini expo
The April No Falls mini expo at the Brighton Wellness Hub was a great success with many people from across the community coming together to enjoy the activities.
The expo featured a range of stalls, great information presentations from Community and Oral Health Services including falls prevention and dementia. Many visitors and our very own facility managers joined in some relaxing tai chi.
“Really enjoyed the speakers, felt the information was comprehensive.”
“Thought there was a lot of good information and considered it a learning experience.”
Campaign call for volunteers!
Our first recruitment campaign since 2019 has begun for the Community and Oral Health volunteer program, and we are keen for you to share this exciting opportunity.
Marg, who has volunteered for over 20 years, is a familiar and happy face at Gannet House.
“The residents are like family, they become part of your life. My mum used to say: The freely you give, the freely you will receive,” she said.
Brendan, who has been volunteering for several years, enjoys the companionship.
“I enjoy helping people and I feel like I am being useful being a volunteer,” he said.
Please share this great opportunity. Contact 3631 7450 or Email COH-Volunteers@health.qld.gov.au
