The final Community and Oral Health Express for the year is a little bit different and we have decided to highlight some unique top five moments for 2021.
At Number 5
We saw a significant first for the directorate with the launch of the Community and Oral Innovation and Research Innovation Centre. What followed was a a rapid burst of innovation and research grants to support continual improvement of our services. We can’t wait to see the outcomes of these initiatives in 2022!
At Number 4
We delivered an innovative new mobile oral health screening and treatment service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families where they live and play. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the service will continue next year.
At Number 3
Our Diabetes and Complex Chronic Disease teams are breaking down barriers through the rapid expansion and use of telehealth and virtual technologies. This is enhancing the care we provide and making it more accessible to patients in their own homes with real-time results.
At Number 2
More than 500,000 COVID-19 vaccinations were administered through our vaccination clinics in Metro North by December 2021.
And, our Number 1 Pick!
After more than 20 years one of our much-loved residents from the Brighton Brain Injury Service, Tania Pearce has now happily settled in her very own accommodation at Asher House, Wynnum West.
Tania was the last resident from Jacana Brain Injury Centre to leave our care.
Take care Tania and Bob! The thoughts of many of us are with you.
