The Herston Health Precinct Symposium was held in December at the RBWH Conference and Education Centre, hosting a number of local, national and international presenters covering a vast range of topics and interests.
Highlights included:
- The Keynote sessions covering international collaborations, artificial intelligence and augmented reality, and the future of healthcare on a global scale
- Celebration of the Year of the Nurse and Midwife, with presentations and panel discussions with nursing leadership from Metro North and our partners
- Presentations featuring our existing and emerging Institutes – Jamieson Trauma Institute, Herston Biofabrication Institute and Herston Infectious Diseases Institute
- Consumer engagement sessions, including a Consumer Showcase hosted by the RBWH Foundation.
This year also saw a record number of research abstract submissions of 300, 50 of which were selected for oral presentations during the Symposium. These submissions competed for a number of awards sponsored by the RBWH Foundation, and our 2020 winners are:
