Carpark flooding due to intense rainfall

What is happening?
Intense rainfall across South East Queensland is causing localised flooding which is now affecting:

  • Downey Park
  • 71 Butterfield St

What do I need to do?
Staff are encouraged to move their cars as quickly and as safely as possible. Staff are also asked to please alert patients and/ or any visitors of the flooding in the carpark and encourage them to also move their cars safely.

Please also inform staff who do not have access to emails.

Other information
In the past heavy rain and flooding has affected the ability of some staff to get to or from work. If you
have concerns about getting to or from work over the next few days, please discuss this with your supervisor now.

Check road conditions before you drive and plan your travel accordingly.

Please remain safe, take extreme care on the roads and under no circumstance cross flooded waterways.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:

  • Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it’s flooded, forget it.
  • Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
  • For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

Where can I find out more?
For emergency storm and flood response, phone the SES on 132 500. If you are in a life threatening emergency, always call Triple Zero (000) first.

Weather updates and warnings are available from http://www.bom.gov.au/qld/warnings/
