There is a lot of discussion, conversations and activity occurring around our work towards Health Equity.
As a directorate, we are committed to providing equity of access to high quality health care and building relationships based on inclusion with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities.
The Metro North Health Equity Strategy, to be finalised in April 2022, describes our commitment to driving health equity.
Our goal is to ensure all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people accessing our health services will receive high-quality person-centred care that is culturally responsive, empowers self-care and choice, and is designed to improve health and wellbeing.
The Metro North Health Equity Strategy will describe our commitment to:
- Actively eliminating racial discrimination and institutional racism within the service
- Increasing access to healthcare services
- Delivering sustainable, culturally safe and responsive healthcare services
- Influencing the social, cultural and economic determinants of health
- Working with First Nations peoples, communities, and organisations to design, deliver, monitor and review health service.
I encourage you to view the new Health Equity website which details the timeline, priority areas and frequently asked questions about this important health direction.
You can also provide feedback and recommendations via our new Yarning Hub.
Recording your booster shot
Please don’t forget, if you have had your third vaccination it is important that you record it.
This can be done via the COVID-19 Vaccination Hub (which is available only via a Queensland Health computer or external access to the QH website, using Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers.)
The process is similar to recording your first two doses of the vaccine:
- Download your COVID digital certificate from your myGov account
- Go to the COVID-19 Vaccination Hub
- Choose the +Booster Vaccination option
- Add your booster details
- Upload or drag and drop your certificate
- Save.
For staff who do not usually have Queensland Health computer access, you can complete the form on the extranet, send to your line manager for verification, and then submit to MN-COVID-Staff-Vaccination-Forms-only@health.qld.gov.au for processing.
