Dear Team,
Words are not enough to express how Andrea, Suzanne and I feel about the amazing resilience, the team had showcased over the weekend, when the whole of South East was facing an extreme weather condition.
Over the weekend, our team leaders and staff on the road showed extreme confidence and maturity in dealing with the challenge faced.
While some of our nurses were unable to return to base due to road safety issue and did the right thing, our Team Leaders showed amazing talent by thinking outside the box to ensure care continuity was maintained.
We cannot progress without thanking the following staff who worked over the weekend, where traditionally we have less than normal workforce visibility.
Thank you to:
- Team Leaders – Varun, Robyn and Pablito for their coordination, communication and escalation skills. The solution towards ensuring care provision for patients living in Bribie utilising the knowledge of staff living in the area and reaching out to agencies such as Coast Guard to transport clinical supplies to the patient just shows how our staff and service can be agile and creative in finding solutions.
- Home visiting staff – Carlo, Bipin, Noela, Megan, Joy, Melinda, Jojo, Emma, Chris, Vanessa, Nikki, Barbora, Shibi, Richard, Ma Lin, Marie, Anu, Marieanne, Ligaya, Prasad, Tomy and Mel who did an outstanding task of conducting home visits, safely and took all the right steps to ensure staff and patient safety.
- AIN staff – Nyssa, France, Jobins and Cheryl for being there as needed to support the nursing and Team Leaders and ensuring that we can continue with service requirements.
- Pharmacy – Bec, Park and Kerry Fielding (Director of Pharmacy) for continuing to support service for ongoing pharmaceutical needs.
- Admin Staff – Jodie for your ongoing admin support to the service and ensuring communication between all staff was maintained.
- Allied Health – Luke and Anton for continuing to provide care as safe as possible.
- COH-Nursing Workforce – To our DNMs who were just a phone call away to support the Team Leader.
- TPCH Registrar – Karen who was amazing in trying to coordinate and support Team Leaders, and make clinical decisions in a short span of time. Thank you Karen.
- On Call Executive Lead – Ansuyah, who was there every step of the way to support the Team Leaders and provide necessary directions.
The resilience which each and every staff member showed over the course of the weekend was wonderful. The team which we have built is a team to reckon with.
