We are excited to let you know that STARS now has a Staff Council!
The STARS Staff Council’s overarching goal is to provide strategic leadership and advocacy on behalf of staff to deliver excellent patient care at STARS. Essentially, the council is a key forum for every member of staff at STARS to have input into our hospital. The council reports all ideas, and questions to the STARS Executive team. We are seeking to develop a valued and supported workforce, to ultimately provide quality patient care.
Your Staff Council members are:
• Alana Paviour (co-chair)
• Brendan Host
• Cecelia Boyd Orford
• Daniel Carlyle
• Emilia Reece
• Jane Holt
• Joseph Tan
• Karina O’Leary
• Kristiana McFarlane (co-chair)
• Kylie Schoeffler
• Meredith Ogilvie-Brown
• Oliver Mason
• Sally Hawkins
• Tracy Grant
To help us start increasing staff engagement and communication, we are in the process of developing a STARS Staff Council QHEPS page and establishing a STARS staff Teams channel. We are only just established, so our QHEPS page and the Teams page will continue to develop and evolve over time.
Every staff member at STARS is invited to join our “Staff @ STARS” Teams channel. Click here to join.
We’d also like to hear from you! We want to know what you’d like to see at STARS and what you think we’re doing well. Click here to fill in the feedback form.
If you ever have any ideas or feedback for how the Council can support staff better, then please let us know. There are multiple ways for you to get in touch:
• Grab one of us in person and have a conversation
• Email us at STARS Staff Council (STARS_SC@health.qld.gov.au)
We had planned for you to Catch the Council next week, but due to the recent move back to Tier 3 restrictions we have decided to postpone this. We’re looking forward to being able to get out and about and talk to you all in person very soon. Until then, keep your eyes and ears open for other STARS Staff Council initiatives.
We look forward to meeting lots of you over the coming weeks and months.
