Today is the first day of Spring and I’m sure many of you are looking forward to some warmer weather ahead. We all acknowledge that the past number of months have been really challenging and I sincerely thank the team for everyone’s collective efforts in supporting our patients and each other.
I wanted to publicly congratulate Dr David Rosengren who we now know has been successful in the role as the Queensland Health Chief Operating Officer. I know that I can speak for us all in saying that he has been an extraordinary leader and a great colleague to many both at RBWH and across Metro North.
I extend to him our sincere congratulations for this new opportunity and wish him success in this role.
It remains my absolute pleasure to continue acting in the role of Executive Director while formal recruitment by Metro North Executive is underway.
For everyone’s information we will be commencing as of Monday 5th of September the ward renovation to 6AS. This is our first piece of the puzzle with respect to our ward realignment which is exciting to see as it heralds the reduction in COVID admissions and our ability to progress with our business case for change.
Over the next few weeks, I will be taking some much anticipated leave. During this time, RBWH Cancer Care Director A/Professor Glen Kennedy will be backfilling the role. I know Glen will do a fantastic job and you will all support him during this time.
Kind regards,
Gill
