Today is R U OK Day, a day to remind us about the importance of looking out for our colleagues to make sure they’re okay. This year, the Metro North message is ‘Am I OK?’.
Working in health care can be tough, no matter what role we play. At one time or another, we all feel pressure, whether it be through the demands of a busy workplace, or something happening in our personal lives.
Whatever it may be, the message is simple. Sometimes people are not ok, and we need to be aware of this, and reach out to give help and support if and when it’s needed. We also need to check in with ourselves as individuals, to make sure we are okay. When we are okay and feeling good, that’s when we perform at our best, both at work and at home.
To help celebrate R U OK Day, staff are invited to join one of the following sessions:
