Metro North Health Incident Controller

15 July 2021

Dear colleagues,

The Premier and Chief Health Officer have today announced that the current restrictions in South East Queensland will remain in place for another 7 days from tomorrow morning.

This means we will continue to wear masks at work and when out in the community. Visitors are restricted at our hospitals, aged care and disability accommodation facilities, which will require us to continue concierge services.

Metro North will remain at Tier 1 in our COVID response plan, including moderate risk PPE.

Student restrictions

Students who have not had two doses of COVID vaccine cannot enter our facilities for placement.

I strongly encourage all students to register for a vaccine as soon as possible.

Vaccination update

This week we have received two deliveries of vaccine and how have sufficient supply of Pfizer vaccine to offer a limited number of walk-ins at our vaccine clinics. Where possible these will go to priority groups.

Yesterday we opened a large community vaccination hub at the Caboolture Square Shopping Centre. Well done to the Caboolture Hospital and Community and Oral Health teams for all your work in getting the clinic open.

The Check in Qld app is now mandatory. Staff, patients are visitors are required to check in using the QR codes at entrances to our facilities and as you move around. This means if you check in at your ward or office in the morning but go outside for lunch, you need to check in again when you return.

Kind regards,

Louise O’Riordan
