Metro North Health Incident Controller

29 June 2021

Dear colleagues,

We have confirmed today we have a positive case of COVID-19 across Metro North Health, a staff member at The Prince Charles Hospital.

The COVID positive staff member was at work during their infectious period. They also did some travelling outside of Brisbane during this time, before getting tested yesterday.

Our Public Health Unit and the hospital team are working quickly to identify all close contacts and additional steps for those who may have been in contact with the staff member. We will continue to keep you posted.

This is a timely reminder for any unvaccinated staff to please get vaccinated, as well as ensuring physical distancing, hand hygiene, correct mask-wearing and staying home if you are unwell. This is particularly important – if you have any symptoms, get tested immediately and isolate until you receive a negative result.

A further update on additional COVID-19 information will be shared in the daily IC message later today.

Kind regards,

Dr Liz Rushbrook
Metro North Incident Controller
