My highest priority is your safety and wellbeing. That’s why it’s important to me that you get your COVID-19 booster shots and get fit tested and fit checked. This week we have done more work to support access to fit testing across the health service including extending hours, training more staff, and purchasing additional machines.

The past few weeks of COVID surge activity have been challenging but it has also been rewarding to see how our people have pulled together, looked out for one another and adapted to the changing situation. Thank you.

Today we held an online forum for consumers and community partners to talk about Metro North’s COVID-19 response. Metro North Incident Controller Louise O’Riordan and ED Strategy, Planning, Assets and Infrastructure Kate Copeland shared our tiered response, how we’re working with private hospitals and primary care providers, and how we’re caring for people with COVID-19.

This weekend we are standing up the first of our primary school pop up vaccination clinics leading into the start of the school year. We will be going to 13 schools over the next 10 days so keep an eye on our website for when we might be at your local school. I’d like to thank our vaccination teams who have been working hard over the past 10 months to vaccinate a huge number of people at our clinics and pop ups sites.

Welcome to our new medical interns, allied health and nursing graduates who are joining our workforce in this unusual time. It’s an important time in healthcare and I thank you for choosing Metro North to start your careers.

Regards,

Jackie
