The Minister for Health and Ambulance Services has informed Board Chairs of the statewide hospital and health board appointments. All appointments have been published in the Queensland Government Gazette and commence on 1 April 2022.

I congratulate Metro North Board Risk and Audit Committee Chair Bernard Curran and Neil Roberts who have been reappointed to the Metro North Hospital and Health Board.

Please also join me in welcoming Dr Meg Cairns to the Metro North Board. Meg is a GP and has worked closely with Metro North Health as a GP Liaison Officer since 2013. Meg is currently Chair of the Clinicians Advisory Group Brisbane North PHN.

Board member Dr Paula Conroy’s term of appointment expires on 31 March 2022 and she did not seek reappointment. All other Board positions remain the same.

Paula has been a member of the Metro North Board since May 2018 and has been a passionate advocate for clinician and staff wellbeing as well as the HHS’s relationship with primary care. She was a member of the Safety and Quality Committee, Finance and Performance Committee and Deputy Chair of the Community Advisory Committee. On behalf of the Board, I express our appreciation for Paula’s significant contribution to the governance of Metro North Health.
