Message from the Chief Allied Health Practitioner: Mark Butterworth

Dear colleagues,

One of the great elements of been Chief Allied Health Practitioner is the opportunity to look after various portfolios. For the last five years I have enjoyed leading the National Disability Insurance Scheme implementation portfolio. We often hear of the challenges of the NDIS (and we have some remaining) but rarely do we hear about the amazing outcomes for so many with disability.  For example, in the six months from April last year we worked closely with NDIS to support the transition of 156 NDIS clients into alternate accommodation. A fantastic effort by so many. Thank you.

To keep all staff up to date and informed on the recent changes within the NDIS and how we are working to support people living with disability within Metro North, we are commencing a regular Metro North NDIS Implementation / Disability vidcast.

Please join me as executive Lead for the NDIS within Metro North Health and our Director of NDIS Implementation, Shannon Dawson, for a monthly series of disability focussed vidcasts. The vidcasts will be a quick snapshot of information, important updates and an interactive opportunity to connect with NDIS / Disability Clinical Leads and have all your questions answered.

Vidcasts will stream monthly on a Monday morning at 11.15–11.45am.

Next sessions:
Monday 29 March, 11.15–11.45am     Join this session.
Monday 10 May, 11.15–1145am      Topic: Specialist Disability Accommodation for 10 mins then questions and answers (link to come).

Kind regards,

Mark Butterworth
