Message from the Chief Allied Health Practitioner: Mark Butterworth

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to let all staff know that Metro North Health has renewed its subscription to UpToDate (an online repository of the world’s most contemporary research on any health condition or pathology). Please click Features | UpToDate for details of all its features. Access is available for all 20,000 Metro North Health staff on any Metro North networked work computer and thereafter on any personal device anywhere, anytime.

Over 1000 MNH clinicians already use UpToDate but many are not aware of it, so please share the news about its availability.  It’s a valuable resource that without Metro North access would cost a nurse or speech pathologist, for example, $560 a year to subscribe.  A patient/caregiver weekly access cost is $20. It is truly an amazing resource that is free to all Metro North staff.

We are all carers or patients or just curious at some time in our lives so I would encourage our non-clinical staff, typists, electricians, porters, etc to avail themselves of this resource.

The UpToDate access tip sheet is available online.

Just another way Metro North Health is committed to putting people first. Making life easier and supporting our staff by providing free access to the world’s best (in my opinion) point of care knowledge information.

Regards,

Mark
