Chief Allied Health Practitioner: Mr Mark Butterworth

Mark Butterworth, Chief Allied Health Practitioner

I would like to thank all those who presented and participated at the combined Metro North/ Metro South Allied Health Research Symposium last Wednesday. It was the second year of a combined symposium and great to see an increase in research and education collaborations across our metro area.

It was also pleasing to note that in 2022 Allied Health in Metro North delivered:

  • 532 research projects involving MN AH staff
  • 229 publications in peer-reviewed journals/books
  • 141 national conference presentations
  • 61 adjunct/honorary research appointments
  • 100 RHD students (58 MN AH staff), 14 conferred
  • 91 research grants for projects involving MN AH staff, totalling $40.7 million

Fantastic effort and contribution to improved outcomes for our care participants.

Recruitment initiative

We know workforce supply is scarce in some professions, so the Allied Health Directors are taking extra steps to boost appeal and attraction rates for allied health practitioners to work in Metro North by advertising total annual remuneration rates for Health Practitioner roles for permanent full-time and temporary full-time roles 12 months and greater.

The new Allied Health Role Description is available on qheps on the Health Practitioner Role Descriptions page.

Content has been included in the role description to highlight additional financial benefits for working with Metro North Allied Health.
