Today Metro North Health and Hospital Service (Metro North Health) adopts a new policy to raise our standards when it comes to preventing and responding to workplace sexual harassment.

Adopting this policy signals important change. It heralds new ways of working, shifts in our collective mindsets and behaviours, and establishes a new program of work to systemically address the drivers and enablers of sexual harassment across our network.

This program of work will be delivered through the Metro North Health Respect@Work initiative, which launches today as we adopt a new sexual harassment policy and I publish a Statement of Commitment and Action Plan.

Sexual harassment is not only unwelcome at Metro North Health, it is unlawful.

I welcome this new era of awareness, action, and accountability.
