The Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women the Honourable Shannon Fentiman has announced our new Metro North Health Board.

We’d like to welcome our new Board Chair, Mr Bernard Curran. He has been a member of the Board since 2018 and previously chaired The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation.

Mr Curran comes from an accountancy and consultancy background, representing clients across medical practices, architecture, and civil construction. He has also held directorships on private company boards and actively serves on not-for-profit boards. We are excited to have him leading our Metro North Health Board.

We also welcome five new members joining the Board – these include Linda Lavarch, Dr Peter Aitken, Dr Shea Spierings, Dr Poya Sobhanian, Aimee McVeigh and the Honourable Jane Prentice.

Ms Nera Komaric and Mr Adrian Carson AM have renewed their membership for another term and join continuing member Dr Meg Cairns.

We thank our departing Board for their incredible service and look forward to working with the new 2024 Board to continue delivering exceptional healthcare to our community.
