February is Fraud Awareness Month

Every February the Department of Health recognises Fraud Awareness Month (FAM), a time to think about spotting and preventing fraudulent activities. This year’s theme is ‘Fraud under the spotlight’. Everyone can get involved in FAM by:

  • Discussing fraud with colleagues, and in particular how it relates to your area of work
  • Assessing the potential risk of fraud and corruption in your workplace
  • Watching webinars on different types of fraud, such as timesheet and procurement fraud
  • Putting up promotional materials in your teams
  • Making sure your Fraud Control Awareness training is up to date

Queensland Health has zero tolerance for fraud and corruption. Everyone must be aware of their roles and responsibilities in relation to fraud and corruption and report concerns that they come across in the course of their duties.

Corporate Business Services Awards extended

A reminder that the Corporate Business Services (CBS) Awards nomination period is open and has been extended to 5pm Thursday 20 February.

Everyone within Metro North has the opportunity to nominate a CBS staff member or team (including those who work in the facilities). Whether it’s an exceptional business manager, a diligent procurement officer, a friendly retail services officer, someone who has provided valuable legal advice or helped you with Content Manager, this is your chance to put them in the spotlight.

The Awards focus is recognition of staff who make a significant contribution to the organisation and who demonstrate a strong commitment to our values:

People Focus – “The Engagement Champion”
Putting people first through a commitment to excellence in service and focus on others.

Innovation – “The Guiding Light”
Driving ideas into action through innovative approaches.

Excellence in Performance – “The Hidden Gem”
Supporting a culture of excellence and unleashing the potential of people and organisations to provide outstanding performance.

Leadership – “The Compass”
Empowering people through excellence in leadership, collaboration and team development.

CFCO Award
This is awarded by discretion of the Chief Finance and Corporate Officer.
