Dear colleagues,
For those of you who weren’t able to join us at the Staff Excellence Awards last week, I’d like to share with you a thank you video made to celebrate everyone at Metro North who has contributed to our COVID-19 response since the start of the pandemic.

From frontline staff and healthcare workers through to all those behind the scenes, many of whom you may not be aware of, we are so grateful for you and you’re all excellent to us! Check out the video here, on the right-hand side of the page above ‘Thank You’ if you haven’t already.

We have concluded another successful Executive Leadership Program thanks to the Organisational Development team. This multi-disciplinary program is designed to identify, develop and retain senior leaders with the ability, engagement and aspiration to progress into executive leadership roles within the health service. If you would like to read more about the program for 2022, please visit QHEPS.

As we power towards the end of the year, it’s important we remember our values, even when we are tired. I’d like to remind you all today that the way you communicate with your colleagues makes a difference. We should be respectful, kind, and careful with both our written and verbal communication.

With just two weeks until Christmas, I encourage you to keep in mind that many people will be working through to keep things running at Metro North. Thank you to everyone who will be here over the festive period to continue caring for our patients. We appreciate you.

While not everyone celebrates Christmas, I hope all staff take the opportunity to enjoy a break over the coming weeks and find time to make memories with friends, family and loved ones.

This time of year can be challenging for some people, so be sure to reach out if you need some support. We have plenty of free services available to you including Benestar, Peer Responder and Staff Psychology. You can check out what is available to you here.

Lastly, if you’re due for your COVID-19 booster, be sure to get it at our facilities at a time that suits you. We have clinics open and ready to top up your COVID-19 immunity ahead of our borders reopening and holiday travel.

Regards,

Jackie
