Dear colleagues,

Congratulations to our finalists for our Staff Excellence Awards. I look forward to celebrating with everyone tonight.

This follows on from some exciting news last week, where STARS took out two awards, including the main award at the Premier’s Awards for Excellence. Well done to our high performing STARS teams!

This week we have awarded $1 million in Innovation Funding. This includes three LINK and five SEED grants. Congratulations to the successful projects:

Today is also International Day of People with a Disability. This day is an important day for us all as allies of those with a disability. At Metro North, we have had two placements start in August at COH, through University Employment Partnership (USEP). Both have successfully attained employment – one with COH, the other with another agency. A reminder we can all consider this alternative recruitment pathway.

Disability Awareness eLearning is also available on TMS, so be sure to brush up on your training if you haven’t already.

Lastly, our recent BPA survey revealed some areas were in need of minor works to make lunchrooms and amenities more enjoyable for patients and staff on well-earned breaks. We have listened, with some small renovations to tea rooms as well as patient areas expected over the coming months in certain parts of our health service.
