Jane Hancock, Chief Operating Officer, Metro North Health

As you’re aware, we will soon begin the recruitment process for the Executive Director Redcliffe Hospital. I have asked Louise O’Riordan to act in the position for the next few months.

Louise is well known to staff as the Metro North Health Incident Controller from July 2021 to September 2022 and Executive lead for the COVID-19 vaccination program. She is currently Director of Operations for Caboolture, Kilcoy and Woodford Directorate.

Louise’s leadership experience includes Director of Safety and Quality at Redcliffe Hospital and Senior Director Clinical Operations at Redcliffe Hospital, and three years as the Executive Lead for Clinical Safety, Quality, Risk Management and Emergency Management for Top End Health Services. She has previously acted as the Executive Director Redcliffe Hospital. She is also a graduate of the Metro North and GE Healthcare Executive Leadership Program and brings expertise in improvement and implementation science.

In addition, Louise is highly respected as an Assessor for the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and has represented the Northern Territory on the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare committees. She is a faculty member of the ACHS Improvement Academy.

Her clinical qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Orthopaedics Specialty) and Leader in Safety and Quality. She has worked in clinical and nurse unit manager roles in the United Kingdom, Australia and Saudi Arabia.

Louise will commence handover in the role from Friday 20 February 2023. Please join me in making Louise welcome in the role.
