Louise O'Riordan A/Executive Director Redcliffe Hospital

Louise O’Riordan

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend and was able to spend some time with loved ones.

Leadership team update

I am pleased to share with you all some changes in the Operations space. Louise O’Riordan has accepted a position in the Office of the Chief Operations Officer as Director of Strategic Operations and Innovation.

Louise is currently Acting Executive Director Redcliffe Hospital. Unfortunately, due to extenuating circumstances, the new Redcliffe ED Cang Dang was delayed in starting and I look forward to welcoming Cang next Monday. Louise will remain at Redcliffe for the next two weeks to handover with Cang.

As Director Strategic Operations and Innovation, Louise will work closely with directorates to develop and bring to life Metro North’s optimised care pathways and ensure a link between operational activity and our strategic aims. Louise will commence in the role on 22 April.

World Health Day

Sunday is World Health Day. The 2024 theme is My health, my right, which the World Health Organization has chosen ‘to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination’.

We are incredibly fortunate in Australia to have universal healthcare and an excellent public health system. Many people around the world, even in developed nations, are not so fortunate. While there are around 140 countries that recognise health as a human right, that doesn’t translate to access.

Thank you all for your commitment to ensuring access to compassionate, respectful and high quality public healthcare.

Warm regards,

Jane.
