Some of you may be aware that Professor Brett Emmerson has decided to retire after 25 years with Metro North and RBWH. As Executive Director Metro North Mental Health, Brett has been a passionate advocate for increasing access to mental health services. His achievements in recent years include the establishment of vital community based step up step down services at Nundah House and Caboolture.

Brett’s last day with Metro North will be Friday 10 September.

Following recruitment, Dr Kathryn Turner will commence as ED Metro North Mental Health on Monday 13 September. Kathryn acted in the role earlier this year and is familiar with the service. Kathryn is currently Clinical Director, Gold Coast Mental Health.

Please join me in welcoming Kathryn and wishing Brett all the best for his retirement.

I’d also like to let you know that Sherry Holzapfel’s title has now changed to Executive Director Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leadership Team. This change reflects Metro North’s strong commitment to Closing the Gap and brings the role into line with other operational leadership positions.

Regards,

David
