Our CE Shaun and Director of Sustainability David Walker inspecting Bev which features the new Metro North Health branding

Dear colleagues,

This week Metro North became the proud owner of Queensland Health’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV). To mark the occasion we have wrapped the new car to promote the Green Metro North Sustainability Strategy. Fondly known as “Bev”, it is the first of eight electric vehicles (EV) that Metro North will rollout across our car fleet in 2021 and is one of the Green Initiatives from the Sustainability Strategy.

Our Green Initiatives drive action for sustainable change to create a healthier, happier and more environmentally sustainable place to work and for our community. Driving Bev will reduce air pollution output compared to the emissions generated by petrol cars and we aim for our entire fleet to be EV. Bev will be located at Herston and takes the place of the Assets and Infrastructure corporate petrol car that was due for replacement. Additional EVs will be rolled out across Metro North Health facilities.

Regards,

Kate
