Last week was National Recycling Week (8-14 November) and Metro North celebrated with a Recycling Showcase and Forum held online and at the RBWH Education Centre. Staff had the opportunity to engage with our waste and recycling partners and gain insight into their recycling initiatives giving new life to the waste generated at our sites. The Name the Wheelie Bin Mascot competition ran all week. Congratulations to the winning entry Reece Cycler – Reece loves recycling, circular economies and puns.

Registrations are now open for the Greening the Healthcare Sector Forum to be hosted by Metro North Health on 30 November at the RBWH Education Centre. It is the first time this event is being held in Queensland and this year’s theme is “Working towards a net zero emissions, climate resilient, equitable and environmentally sustainable healthcare sector: ensuring good health for all”. I am pleased to be speaking at the Forum on the topic “Green buildings for a net zero future” and I encourage staff to register and take advantage of this opportunity for connection, insights and knowledge sharing in the transition to net zero carbon and environmentally sustainable healthcare. Register here for your discounted staff tickets.

Kind regards,

Kate
