A greener app for more sustainable waste and recycling

In celebration of National Recycling Week 2023 (13-19 November), the Metro North Environment and Waste team is launching a user-friendly app to support Metro North’s Sustainability Strategy as a way to quickly identify the recycling and waste category of items to ensure safe, environmentally sustainable and financially responsible waste management, waste reduction and recycling practice.

The Waste and Recycling Directory – PowerApps is a simple, visual online resource and traffic light system that provides information and visual identifiers of more than 30 commonly used items across our work areas, from clinical waste to coffee cups, as well as waste alternative solutions and how particular categories are treated or disposed of across Metro North.

If you want to know if we can recycle this or that, check out the Waste and Recycling Directory – PowerApps via your mobile phone or on your computer, using you QH login, or on QHEPS under Environment and waste | Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
