May 17 is International Day Against Homophobia Biphobia Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). It marks the anniversary of the World Health Organisation removing homosexuality from the classification of diseases in 1990 – only 34 years ago!

This day is an important day through which to raise awareness of violence, discrimination, and repression of LGBTQIA+ communities world-wide. Whilst there have been huge advances with diversity/inclusion in the world and in our workplaces there is still a long way to go.

Our Pride in Metro North group have staged displays at the RBWH and TPCH sites today to mark this important day. We thank all of our staff across Metro North for your commitment to making Metro North a safe and inclusive place for our staff, our patients and for our community.

Kind regards,

Grant.
