Shout out to team Woodford for their resilience and persistence as they face a COVID-19 outbreak in the prison. I can’t thank you enough for your commitment during what can only be described as a very challenging week.
- MN is set to receive approximately 100 Air Purifiers today (24/01). Caboolture, Kilcoy and Woodford will receive an allocation from within the 100 which will reduce the viral load in COVID areas.
- MN Staff Testing Clinics will remain open on the Public Holiday (26/01). Both the Caboolture Hospital Staff Testing Clinic and Kilcoy COVID-19 testing clinic will operate as per normal hours.
- Fit testing continues to be a major priority for all MN staff. CKW is identifying staff working in priority high risk areas, such as the ED, ICU, 3B and 4A, for priority fit-testing if they haven’t been tested at all.
- From today (24/01), MN is offering COVID-19 booster vaccinations three months after people have received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
- Our preparedness and response to the pandemic is working really well. We got this!
You may have noticed I have been placing a lot of importance on compassionate communication in my recent messages. Communication is a central component of compassionate care. Whether it’s communicating with our patients, their families or carers, or communicating with each other, empathetic and compassionate communication and kindness should be front of mind. Now is the time to practice these powerful and important skills.
Stay calm, slow COVID, and plan for the Public Holiday.
