Dr Simon Bugden Acting Executive Director Caboolture, Kilcoy & Woodford Clinical Directorate

Keep up the great work – we’ve got this! While COVID-19 presentations are declining across Queensland, our acute patient load is growing which means we continue to operate in a very busy environment. Important information attached to help you today.

Key points include:

  • Metro North Health is committed to prioritising fit testing for all frontline staff. Check the Fit Testing Extranet page for CKW dates and phone 5316 2422 to make an appointment.
  • A plan is being rapidly developed for CKW to resume planned care while continuing BAU processes.
  • The staff COVID-19 Testing clinic continues in the Caboolture Hospital Staff Car Park 7.30am – 3.30pm every day with PCR and RAT testing. RAT kits also available after hours from EOC (phone 5316 5014), hospital coordinators or Emergency Department triage if all other options not available.
  • All Metro North Health Staff returning from overseas in the last 14 days are required to apply for an exemption before returning to work. Please make sure you tick the ‘General Exemption from a Health Direction’ box. Several applications have been declined recently due to do staff incorrectly ticking the ‘Specialist/Essential Worker’ box.
  • The Check-In Queensland app is still required for people visiting a hospital.
  • Changes to the Healthcare Worker Framework will allow for the return of asymptomatic close contact workers utilising a risk matrix process to guide suitability.

Stay calm, slow COVID-19 and don’t forget to upload evidence of your booster! Simon PS. Please print and place in areas where staff don’t read or have access to emails.

Today’s important updates and key information.

Please remember to print and display this information in areas where staff cannot easily access email.

Thanks.

Dr Simon Bugden
A/Executive Director
