The number of COVID-19 patients at CKW continue to decline so we’re starting to downscale our response accordingly.

This is great news… but we need to remain agile and be ready to upscale again should another COVID-19 surge occur. Important information to help you today. Key points include:

  • Metro North remains on a Tier 3 response which includes High Risk PPE. This includes wearing an N95 mask and goggles/face-shield in clinical areas. This PPE matrix outlines the appropriate PPE for your type of work.
  • From Monday, the COVID-19 Testing Clinic tent in the Caboolture Hospital Staff Car Park will close. It will transition to the volunteers’ hut (behind the Education Centre). The hut will be open 7.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday only for RAT tests. No PCR testing. Staff should drive up and park. You will be asked to scan a QR code on presentation and be provided with tests (if criteria is met). At this stage, the tent will remain in place in case of escalation. This service will continue to be available for all Metro North Health staff.
  • The Kilcoy Hospital Fever Clinic will close on Friday afternoon and RATs will be provided to people who attend seeking testing.
  • Boosters are critical to battling the Omicron strain. Once you have had a booster, please upload your vaccination certificate. Find the blue Register Your Evidence button in the middle of this page on the extranet. The evidence page is internal access only.
  • The Staff Wellbeing Portal on the Metro North COVID-19 Extranet also has a range of resources and tips for eating well, managing anxiety, money management, parenting and much more. Please take the time to explore this helpful website.

Please remember to print and display this information in areas where staff cannot easily access email.

Stay calm, slow COVID-19 and ensure that you and your colleagues are wearing the correct PPE!
