Crazy Socks 4 Docs graphic Crazysocks4docs Day will be held across Australia tomorrow (Friday 2 June).

The initiative aims to raise awareness of mental health for doctors and increase the focus on removing the stigma associated with it.

Crazy socks tell another doctor or health professional that it is ok to not be ok and can start a conversation.

Maintaining positive mental health and well-being is important for all staff who work in health care, especially with the very demanding winter period now upon us.

Pressure on healthcare workers is higher than ever with ongoing staff challenges and continued increased demand for healthcare.

Having the support from colleagues, family and friends is essential.

At CKW, our Medical Education Unit team is hosting Crazysocks4docs Day at Grand Rounds and Junior Doctor education events this week.

Both events will include a presentation by Metro North Health Staff Psychologist Drew Craker.

Tomorrow, let your feet speak!

I encourage everyone to wear your brightest and most colourful socks to show support for our medical colleagues and start a conversation about mental health.

You could also take a photo and share on social media using the hashtag #CrazySocks4Docs and #Caboolture, #Kilcoy or #Woodford.

Let’s put our best foot forward! For more information, visit the website.

Take care,

Angie.
