2023 National NAIDOC Week Poster

For this week’s message I would like to focus on NAIDOC Week and the many celebrations that have been occurring across our facilities.

I want to thank everyone who has helped make these celebrations such a huge success.

NAIDOC Week has been a great opportunity to continue to promote understanding through knowledge sharing and storytelling.

This year, we saw an amazing turn out of staff at each facility.

As you would know, the theme for NAIDOC this year was “For Our Elders”.

Local Elders have and continue to play an important role within our Metro North Health Equity journey, especially through our COH Yarning Circle.

I thank all of the Elders and community members who are giving up their valuable time to support us on this journey.

“Where there is knowledge there are our Elders. Our Elders paved the pathways for us, taught us our knowledge, our history, they passed down their art, stories and wisdom.

“Our Elders are the foundation of our communities and role models for our children. With this poster I wanted to showcase how important our Elders are in passing down traditions and culture to our children and future.”
