I always acknowledge credit when and where credit is due. This week I have a number of areas and staff I would like to thank given the current pressures and demands we face.
Behind the scenes yet again staff continue to join the vaccination effort, many of whom are from Oral Health, and are now supporting our clinics at Doomben, Kallangur, Brighton and Kippa Ring, and school pop up vaccination clinics.
Thank you to everyone for this committed effort to keep our community safe and protect our most vulnerable patients and residents.
Kippa Ring Vaccination Clinic
Yet another great compliment about our Kippa Ring Vaccination Clinic – you’re doing a great job!
“Please pass on my appreciation to the staff at the Kippa-Ring Children’s vaccination clinic. My words can’t express my gratitude. Thank you for going above and beyond.
“In particular thank you to Naomi Roder (right) and our nurse Mary Jackson (first left) for taking such great care of our boys. Your dedication, aptitude and professionalism was greatly appreciated.
“Let’s just say having two neuro-divergent boys, anxiety was high but in the end the boys agreed 8/10 for the experience – 10 being not getting a needle at all. So exceptional work.
“I hope you already know but if you don’t, the impact you have on these children’s lives is immense. Please keep up the excellent work and know that it matters to each individual that passes through.”
Oral Health Call Centre
I know that our Oral Health Call Centre has been working hard to improve its service and it was wonderful to read this fabulous comment from a satisfied customer.
“I wanted to compliment one of your team members who I had the pleasure of speaking to over the phone.
“Unfortunately, I did not write down her name. I was calling on behalf of my granddad (who has poor English) to make an appointment on his behalf.
“Not only did your team member display a friendly, understanding and professional attitude over the phone, she took the extra steps to help my granddad find the earliest available appointment at multiple clinics.
“By looking up and asking whether we were able to travel to another clinic (Sandgate) instead of Granddad’s usual clinic (City/Herston), Granddad was able to be seen by a dentist within a week of us calling.
“With all going well, we are hopeful that he’ll be able to complete his treatment at the Sandgate clinic by the end of the month. This would mean he would complete his treatment before he would have been able to have his first consultation if he was to attend his usual clinic.
“It was also great to understand that there were multiple clinics available, as granddad, nor the family, nor I were aware of this option and historically thought he could only attend one location (originally the city, and then Herston).
“I want to specifically call out the great work of this particular team member and note that we really appreciated her taking the extra steps to assist us with our query.”
Reminder – Fit Testing Booking
Metro North are in the process of increasing our Fit Testing capability and the number of staff who require Fit Testing is reducing well across the directorate.
A big thank you to our fit testers who have been working around the clock to get our staff tested.
All staff can call the Fit Testing Number on 0487 537 524 to book an appointment.
If line managers and staff have an urgent need please call the number and we will work to arrange testing as a priority.
