This week’s message is one of reflection. On Saturday as the Executive on Call, I had the opportunity to speak with a man whose father is in one of our services.

As he spoke, I was reminded that the people we serve are all some one’s father, brother, mother, etc. and that these connections are important.

As he spoke, this gentleman acknowledged staff by their name and recalled the things staff had done to support his father, himself and his family – little things done with great care.

I also had the opportunity to observe the passion and conviction Mark Loan, Lizzie Biju and Sarah-Jane Manley showed when they met Alister Whitta, our chief finance officer when he visited Brighton Health Campus.

Alister was left in no doubt about the value of our services in Interim Care and BBIS – well done team!

Celebrating success

COH Allied Health Professions DayLast week, members of our executive visited a few sites to recognise and celebrate the success of our staff as part of Allied Health Professions Day.

A number of staff received well deserved Awards to recognise the role they play each and every day to support the people we serve and  their families toward recovery and to find new pathways and meaning.

Our allied health teams are working in the home, nursing homes and our facilities to support thousands of people each year to regain independence through supportive care.

The Community Based Rehabilitation team are also leaders in exploring ways to harness robotics in recovery.
