Community White Ribbon event

This week we connected with a number of local ‘against domestic violence’ organisations by holding an informative White Ribbon event at the Brighton Wellness Hub. This White Ribbon event provided an opportunity for staff and the community to come together, to share knowledge and information about the support available and call for an Australia that is free from all forms of violence and abuse against women and children.

Thank you everyone who supported this wonderful networking event which was also driven by:

A big thank you to Tanya Beaumont and Leanne Johnson for all their work behind the scenes getting this important event off the ground. I look forward to more of these events in 2023.

Disability Action Week

Disability Action Week runs from November 26 to December 2. It recognises the contributions people with disability make to our lives, families, workplaces, communities and to Queensland’s economy. The 2022 Disability Action Week theme, ‘Workforce Diversity: open up to opportunity’ highlights the skills, talents, qualifications and abilities people with disability bring to Queensland’s workforce.

If you are interested in being involved in this week resources are available @ Spread the word | People with disability | Queensland Government (www.qld.gov.au)

In addition, we are asking staff with lived experience of having a disability or being a carer of someone with a disability to share their story with Kate Schultz Acting Director Allied Health – COH-DAH@health.qld.gov.au

An Expression of Interest is also open for staff who want to join a COH all abilities working group to inform the development of a COH diverse abilities action plan – email COH-DAH@heatlh.qld.gov.au
