Glynis Schultz, Executive Director, Community and Oral Health

15-year anniversary of the National Apology at Brighton Health CampusOn Monday, we recognised the 15-year anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations (by then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd) at Brighton Health Campus.

This was a time to pause, reflect and stand in solidarity with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and colleagues.

As a directorate we are committed to listening and sharing the voices of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community which can lead to greater reconciliation and health equity.

The working group supports the Metro North Health Equity Strategy to create an environment where we are providing care that is tailored to the individual needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

I encourage all staff who would like to be part of the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group to please email your interest to paul.drahm@health.qld.gov.au

Your views on the COH Workforce Plan 2023-25

COH Workforce Plan 2023-25 draft feedbackWe are seeking your view on the draft Community and Oral Health Workforce Plan 2023-25.

To make it easier we have developed a COH Workforce Plan on a Page document that details our three key priorities as aligned to the Queensland Health Workforce Strategy 2032.

Our Workforce Plan is very important as it details the suggested priority actions to be delivered to ensure we continue to build a highly motivated, skilled and valued workforce that meets the diverse needs of our residents, patients and clients.

Please, can all staff initially review the COH Workforce Plan on a Page document which outlines our priorities and actions, and then provide feedback via the COH Workforce Plan Feedback Form by the end of February 2023.

This is a great way for everyone to stay connected and get involved in shaping the future of our great directorate!

Get Involved, Stay Connected

Last week we launched a special staff broadcast series called ‘Get Involved and Stay Connected’.

This will be a periodical staff broadcast which showcases some of the initiatives and opportunities for staff to get involved in culture and wellness initiatives that are occurring across COH and Metro North.

These special broadcasts won’t replace the regular staff bulletin but put more emphasis on things that are very important … staff wellness, connection and wellbeing.
