We continued our executive visits to Community and Oral Health facilities this week at Aspley Community Health Centre.
It was great to take some time with the broader executive to talk to staff, acknowledge some great work and thank everyone for their continued commitment and hard work.
The Aspley Community Health Centre is a very unique facility as it houses many very important patient support and referral services such as our oral health and community service call centres, and nurse navigator and access teams.
You will be able to find out more about the Aspley Community Health Centre, it’s staff and the great work they are doing next week when we release the Voice of Aspley publication.
Please keep an eye out for it.

Our COH Shining Stars
Now, to the rest of our shining stars! In February, we received an additional five nominations:
- Kiron Shukla, Advanced Physiotherapist – Community Based Rehabilitation Team, North Lakes
- Redcliffe Dental Clinic (Also nominated for the team of the month at Redcliffe Hospital)
- Victoria Sinclair, A/Nursing Director and Anita Keightley, Assistant Director, Home Hospital
- Anna Colquhoun, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Wound Management and Stomal Therapy, Chermside Community Health Centre
The broader COH Shining Stare winner for February was Anna Colquhoun! And, this is why:
“Anna has been in the CNC role for two years. She is a single clinician in a very busy service, which stretches from the bedded services to supporting community-based services. In 2023 she completed her Nurse Practitioner studies while working full-time.
“She is also the mother of two special needs children. This achievement always leaves me amazed. While managing all of this, she has continued to grow the Wound-Stoma service in COH, supporting clinicians through education and mentoring and striving for excellence, through research and evidence-based practice.”
Congratulations Anna for the well-deserved recognition!
