It is always a pleasure to see our staff being very passionate about the care and support that they provide to our patients and residents, but also when they are having a bit of fun at work.
And, this fun started at the Brighton Wellness Hub where some of our members and volunteers decided to have an easter hat morning tea.
These types of events, which are delivered regularly at the Hub provide a great deal of social connection and emotional benefit to our members, patients, residents and staff.
The joy over the break continued at the Halwyn Centre with an easter egg hunt, bonnet parade, music, bubbles, sausage sizzle and a lot of laughter and fun in the park.
Sounds like a wonderful day had by our residents and staff, and it is great to see how the upgraded park lift is giving everyone more opportunity to experience the great outdoors at their doorstep.
Short notice assessment update
With the mandatory Short Notice Accreditation Assessment commencing 1 July 2023 the directorate will be provided with 24-hour notice of assessment covering all eight National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards.
It is anticipated that the first assessment will occur soon after our commencement date so that we gain recertification prior to our current status expiring later this year.
Thank you to all of our staff for their hard work to ensure readiness, especially our Safety and Quality team who have developed a plan to identify any final opportunities for improvement to services, while preparing and submitting our required documentation and evidence to Metro North for submission to ACHS.
Safety and Quality team members will be spending approximately three days working with service lines in the coming months across both community and oral health.
A clear focus before 1 July 2023 includes reviewing:
- work unit guidelines / work instructions
- continuous improvement plans
- staff mandatory training
- the clinical environment.
Metro North have updated all accreditation resources which are available on the Metro North Safety and Quality Accreditation intranet page.
Great compliment – Community Transition Care Program
“I am happy to let you know that the personal care service has started for Mum and it seems to be going well. We are still waiting for her physiotherapy service to start but the commencement is imminent.
“The main purpose of this email is to thank the Community Transition Care Program team for the great care and professionally service provided which helped rehabilitate my Mum to the point that she is at today.
“The services that she received through the Community Transition Care Program were very well targeted to Mum’s needs.
“Across the course of the eight or so weeks these services really improved her mobility as well as her physical and mental wellbeing.
“We were very impressed with the kindness and professional directness that all of the practitioners approached Mum’s rehabilitation.
“From a personal point of view, I very much appreciated the level and regularity of communication that was provided so that everyone concerned was kept informed, allowing us all to keep moving in a positive direction with mum’s recovery.”
