Glynis Schultz, Executive Director

I am very appreciative of the way our staff continue to keep on responding to the needs of Metro North hospitals and the complex and changing needs of our patients.

At North Lakes this week as part of our July Shining Star Awards, I provided a special commendation to Rajni Nair and the Hospital in the Home team for finding solutions to complex care needs of patients.

This team, like many across our service especially our Oral Health Centre and Metro North Oral Health Service teams, have been doing extraordinary things, demonstrating flexibility, innovation and adaptability to increase services and meet activity targets.

This work hasn’t gone unnoticed and I appreciate all that you do.

We will be highlighting more of our Shining Stars and service improvements in the Vision of North Lakes which will be published shortly.

Caboolture Satellite Hospital – Oral Health Move

Caboolture Satellite Hospital Community Open Day graphicThe Caboolture Satellite Hospital will be opening next week and will see the transition of the current Metro North Oral Health Service which is currently delivered at the Caboolture Community Health Centre.

I want to echo Mario’s words and acknowledge the Oral Health team at Caboolture. Moving house is no small task and given the volume of patients they see each year this is a significant undertaking.

A massive thank you from me and the Community and Oral Health executive to the MNOHS Caboolture team and everyone who has been involved in organising this move!

For those whot don’t know, there will an open day at the Caboolture Satellite Hospital this Monday which staff are welcome to attend – details follow.

Compliment for Diabetes Service – Chermside

“I am grateful to have received support from Andrew, the diabetic educator. He made a big difference in my life. When I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at hospital, I felt like my whole world had turned upside down.

“When I was linked to Chermside Diabetes Service, Andrew welcomed me like one of his own closest family members.

“He gave me the motivation and courage I needed during the time. He gave me valuable advice and tools to manage my Type 1 Diabetes.

“Andrew is the most perfect doctor I could have wished for. If all the health professionals worked like Andrew did, it would make such a big difference to a person’s life.

“Additionally, Laura and Genevieve, the dietician and Scott, the exercise physiologist were really helpful as well. They gave me an inspiration that with Type 1 Diabetes, I can still do the things I enjoy.

“I would like to say huge thank you to the Chermside Diabetes Service Team for making such a difference to all people living with Diabetes. You have got the most perfect team. Thank you!”
